One of the hard lessons of the ongoing Jupiter-Saturn-Pluto cluster is that all forms of media are biased and it’s difficult to know what is true. On July 1, retrograde Saturn temporarily leaves Aquarius after a three-month visit, backing into Capricorn, where it stays until December, giving us nearly six-months to figure it out and to turn the ship of humanity onto a more sustainable course. We might wish the pieces would come together as easily as they do in our imagination, but the cosmos has us on a path designed for slow learners, as if to make sure no one gets left behind.

The lingering impact of the Jupiter-Pluto conjunction on June 30 flavors the entire month of July with a combination of optimism and dread as hidden issues continue to rise to the surface where they cannot be denied. Unconscious behavior and buried history see the light of day. The Capricorn Full Moon on July 4 is a Lunar Eclipse, the final eclipse in a series of three this season. It is a punctuation mark on a six-week paragraph of change, though its influence will be felt for months. We must adjust to assertive Mars now on an extended visit to impulsive Aries through the end of the year, where it can incite unpremeditated reactions to touchy situations when cooler heads are needed to prevail. Mercury’s conflictive squares to Mars on July 8 and July 27 put us on notice to think before we respond. Mercury turns direct on July 12, a premature notice that things are moving forward again, since Jupiter, Saturn, Chiron, and Neptune are still retrograde, demanding we revise the past before moving into the future.

The Cancer New Moon on July 20 requires another round of relearning. It’s opposition to taskmaster Saturn won’t let us get away with casual behavior or avoidance tactics. We are reaping what has been sown while simultaneously preparing to sow seeds for future growth. Brighter days are within reach once the Sun enters expressive Leo on July 22. An expansive phase is heralded by a cosmic wake-up call the same day as Mercury sextiles Uranus. Our horizons continue to widen as Venus, Jupiter, and Neptune unfold a complex dance of dreams through July 30. Thankfully, the radiant Leo Sun creates a flowing trine to mentor Chiron on July 31, enabling us to get with the program as we strive to find clarity through the month ahead.
