The Contortionist - Monochrome (Passive) Drum Cover - Andrew Spagnolo (1/9)

Hi! Here's part 1/9 of my drum cover for the album "Clairvoyant" by The Contortionist.

I had actually finished this back in January of 2021 but due to some issues I had, I could not upload the full video and have it visible to literally anyone, anywhere. Uploading each song individually seems to work so I'm going with that. While I am glad that this actually works, it's not entirely what I had in mind but doing it this way I feel still maintains a lot of the artistic vision in pretty much all areas from audio to video.

For this series of videos, I got a lot of new equipment for audio and video recording. For audio, I got a lot of new microphones which I'll try and list below as well as another interface to support them all. The biggest thing was definitely the new overhead microphones and the new room microphone. I think adding those dramatically increased the recording quality which in turn, also made it easier to mix for Joey from what I can remember.
In regards to video recording, I upgraded from using just an iPhone 8 to using a Canon EOS 80D and two GoPro 7s as well as the iPhone. The footage facing towards my left side is done with the 80D, the two birds-eye shots are done with the two GoPros and the angle closest to my right side is done with the iPhone. Taking this step was definitely a big learning curve for me in not only shooting the video but also editing but I am confident with the end result that mostly all of it has turned out alright. Going into my next project, I'll be able to use the knowledge I've learned from doing this and should be able to apply it to make my workflow much easier for myself.
Overall though, I'm very happy with the quality that's come out of this in regards to both the audio and video side of things but please let me know what you think! I welcome all constructive criticism and any tips that might be valuable for me in the future.

I have to give a massive thanks to my man, Joey, of Liefy Green Studios for doing the mixing on all of this for me. I am very happy with the end result and will definitely be working with him more in the future!
Also, another one to my boy Clayton for helping me fix my kick pedals when I was in the middle of recording this and they broke. You are a real G and I cannot thank you enough!
