Divisional charts show the strength of different sections of life. D9 or Navamsa is the most important Varga. It shows how you develop as a personal, your awakening as time goes by, marriage, true strength of natal chart planets and their fruits. The ascendant of your Vargas really bring about the events to do with that area of life particularly when the Dasa or sub Dasa of that planet kicks in. I use D9 for all readings and D10 for career, D7 for children, D3 bravery, siblings, D12 heritage and lineage etc.
