You could transcend into
Oneness
Or you could just be as you are
Right now
You could silence your mind
Abide in complete stillness for days and days
Or you could just be as you are
Right now
You could merge with the divine consort
Discover complete union
Be catapulted into unspeakable bliss
Or you could just be as you are
Right now
You could heal all your wounds
Get rid of all your confusion
And become a perfected being
(But tell me, how would you deeply
Connect with other human beings?)
You could discover yourself as
The One
Find yourself on the other shore
Death, something intimately known and lived
Or you could do the brave thing - be here, feet fully planted, on this exquisitely ordinary shore
You could be a priestess
A dakini or daka
You could develop special powers
But do you know how to be kind, to be gentle,
To forgive and with ease
Admit your mistakes and own your misdeeds?
You see, there are so many experiences
To taste
But what I’m learning is
There is truly nothing more exquisite
Than THIS ordinary place
If we only open up the aperture
Savor all of the goodness
We somehow missed glistening bright
From our coffee, our backyard flowers,
Our friendships, the pearl moonlight
I choose this shore
I choose this Life
Won’t you join me?
Let’s forget our search for the answers
Let’s toss aside our quest, celebrate this night
And do what most have forgotten...
Relish, each day, of this precious
