Greetings From The Desert...
On Thursday, in the Third Week of Easter, Fr. Maestri proclaims the First Reading from the Acts of the Apostles, in which Fr. Maestri exhorts the faithful to realize and recognize that the "Acts" in the Acts of the Apostles, were actual experiences lived by the Apostles and disciples, recorded in the Holy Bible, to serve as an example to provide enlightenment and direction, throughout the ages until the end of time, as to how the faithful in every generation are to live their lives, daily, on their spiritual journey.
In this time of spiritual void spawned by the suspension of the public Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, globally, due by the Coronavirus Pandemic, worldwide, the following is an excerpt from "April 30" taken from a book titled Daily Renewal In The Holy Spirit, Reflections For Every Day And Sacred Seasons, page 58:
APRIL 30 - WEIGH ME DOWN
Reading Isaiah 1:10-17
The burdens and responsibilities of everyday life can weigh heavily on our hearts. There are times when our spirits are sapped and our zest for life is running low. The latest energy drink does not seem to yield a boost of energy. We find ourselves operating on automatic pilot. While our behavior may be correct, inside we are just performing in order to meet the expectations of others. Even God expresses being weighed down by Israel. How so? The sacrifices of various animals, various feasts ring hollow, and the liturgical celebrations in the temple are not divine worship. The religious performances are not acceptable to the Lord. In fact, this show of fidelity is an affront to God's majesty. God feels burdened by this religious hypocrisy. GOD DOES NOT DESIRE ALL THE EXTERNALS OF RELIGION IF ONE'S HEART REMAINS UNRENEWED. The covenant with God requires these sacrifices - justice in the courts, purification from the innocent blood spilled, make reparation for all the wrong done, and an act on behalf of the orphan and widow. Israel's religious practice had become a way of keeping God confined to the house of worship and "bought off" with various sacrifices. In other words, the ways of God were not to intrude on our daily life. Israel came to believe that covenant-faith would restrict God's sovereignty to designated days of worship. All the other days were under their control. The Bible (Isaiah) teaches that God is not restricted to the place of worship; the glory of God fills the whole of space and time; and the call to live justly and be mindful of the cry of those in need is a worship pleasing to the Lord.

THIRD WEEK OF EASTER - *SPIRITUAL COMMUNION*
As we watch the Mass Video today, on Thursday, in the Third Week of Easter, during the Consecration, when the bread and wine are elevated, and are transformed into the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity, of our Blessed Lord, Jesus Christ, through the process of Transubstantiation, let us make a devout and holy *Spiritual Communion* to show how much we love our Blessed Lord, and how much we miss, appreciate, and love attending, in person, the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. In a spirit of unity, harmony, and love, let us offer our *Spiritual Communion* for the special intention for the return and restoration of the public Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, on a global scale.
Please watch the video and then share with others, for the love of God, the glory of God, and the greater good of all.
"In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead."
St. James 2:17
