On Mother’s Day 2006, I received a phone call I will never forget. It was from a New York Times Best Selling Author, whom I had not met before, named Gayle Lynds. She and I began a conversation around noon; one we both assumed would be brief. That telephone call lasted over five hours and heralded the beginning of a wonderful lifetime friendship.

Gayle had been emotionally moved to call me after reading my autobiography, A Spiritual Warrior’s Journey. Once she’d introduced herself, she proceeded to go on about how my life story had inspired her; that she’d laughed and cried. A serious tone came into her voice when she told me the messages in the book had re-awakened something spiritual in her own being. She said she’d like to help me get my book to a traditional publishing house, and offered to rewrite and promote the book. What a gesture of valuable influence and assistance!

Thus began the mystical journey and our friendship. I talk about this conversation and what unusual things transpired on the phone that day.
